Position: Initial Contact Point Worker
Location: Office-based (North East Lincolnshire area)
Salary: £18.00 per hour (PAYE)
Shift: Full-time, Monday to Friday (5 days on-site)
Contract: Temporary
Start Date: Immediate starts available
About the Role
We are supporting our client, a dedicated and progressive public sector organisation, in their search for a committed Initial Contact Point Worker. This is a vital front-line role focused on safeguarding and supporting children and families, working within a fast-paced, multi-agency environment.
Ideal for experienced practitioners who thrive on responsibility and possess a strong understanding of child protection, early intervention, and strengths-based approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and respond to incoming requests for support for children who may require help or protection
- Review, analyse, and share information with internal and external partners to inform safe, timely decision-making
- Provide clear, accurate guidance to families and partner agencies
- Build strong relationships with children, families, and professionals, ensuring the child’s voice is central to all decision-making
- Assess and analyse risk, identifying appropriate interventions and escalating where necessary
- Maintain accurate case records in accordance with policy and performance standards
- Prioritise and manage a varied workload in a high-demand environment
- Provide mentoring, guidance, and contribute to reflective practice within the team
Key Requirements
- Proven experience working directly with children and families, including those experiencing complex needs and neglect
- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, safeguarding procedures, and local thresholds of need
- Ability to manage risk and make sound, evidence-based decisions under pressure
- Confident working in a multi-agency setting and effectively engaging with a wide range of stakeholders
- Skilled in IT systems and confident using databases and digital tools to maintain case records
- Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) in a relevant area
- Enhanced DBS and ability to travel within North East Lincolnshire
- Commitment to full-time, on-site working (5 days per week)
