Position: Multi-Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias)
Location: Grimsby
Salary: £42,000 per year
Shift: Monday to Friday on Rota (5am-2pm & 9am-6pm), Alternate Saturdays (5am-10am)
About the Role:
Our client has developed into one of the UK’s leading independent fish processing companies. Operating from a modern processing facility in one of Europe’s most significant fish processing centres.
They are seeking a proactive and skilled Multi-Skilled Engineer with an electrical bias to ensure the operational effectiveness of all equipment and facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, a hands-on approach, and experience maintaining and improving machinery within a food processing environment.
Key Duties:

Ensure compliance with internal/external audits, assisting auditors as required.

Maintain quality, food safety, health & safety, and environmental standards, ensuring full compliance by contractors and staff.

Conduct maintenance on all factory machinery and equipment.

Support all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programs across the site in a timely manner.

Liaise with external contractors for services such as water supply, plumbing, electrical work, legal checks, gas regulations, and water testing.

Overhaul and replace parts as needed.

Complete paperwork related to visitors/contractors and manage the Permit to Work system.

Respond immediately to machinery breakdowns.

Accurately record and complete Daily Maintenance and Startup sheets.

Conduct quality inspections on machinery.

Promote and maintain high hygiene standards in the workplace.
Requirements:

National Vocational Qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent City & Guilds, HNC/HND.

Experience in fault finding, breakdown repairs, and completion of Preventative Maintenance routines on both mechanical & electrical equipment.

Fully qualified time-served engineer with nationally recognised certification.

Basic Food Hygiene certification with experience in a food processing environment.

Understanding of efficiency principles in manufacturing.

Strong communication skills at all business levels.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent time management, organisational, and planning skills.

Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads.
Qualifications:

National Vocational Qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent City & Guilds, HNC/HND.
